Nothing to See Here, Move Along

Post by LoBaron »

This is really no tragedy, I think the specific topic was discussed sufficiently for the OP to understand the
possible reasons for a battle outcome, and I could care less about post count fetishes and stuff, but:

Yesterday evening there was a thread about a carrier battle result and the analysis of this battle in the main forum.
I do not exactly remember the title, something like "Why don´t my CVs hit?" or "CV battle results".

There was a nice participation, and I think the OP got detailed explanations for his battle results.
Participants besides others were Castor Troy, Erkki and myself, and the general atmosphere was friendly and helpful.

Overnight this thread is gone, and I checked my recent posts in that thread, they are missing too.
As I already said, there was, up to the time I went to bed, no reason to intevene from mod level.

If there was a reason to remove this specific thread after I went offline I don´t shed a tear, but admittedly I prefer to know the reason.
Anybody remembers and wants to share?

Edit: Thanks, got the answer I was searching for (with a bit more drama than anticipated). Please consider this topic closed.

I was also just looking for that thread... I had to leave early yesterday, at about 17 of LoBaron's time, so I think I missed many of the posts. Looking at my "recent posts" they actually seem to be my FIRST posts on the Matrix forums, and the latest 50 and latest 100 are bugged and dont work.

I was passive observer of that threat.

At 11 PM (Central Europe time) thread was still there. I notice that he is gone about 6AM today. So we have 7h when crime happen.

It was very active thread and i have not notice anything that will explain deleting it.
I do not remember his name but i was something like "CV battle results in `42"

Erkki maybe it is some kind of forum malfunction as i have also problem with 50 and 100 newest posts?

The problems with "newest posts" has existed with the forum software for several months. Not sure what happened to the missing thread...

I am guessing it was deleted...mdiehl came in and called everyone every name in the book...and it just ran way off topic...intially a good informative thread

mdiehl made a historical observation, several trolls came in and called mdiehl every name in the book, drawing it off topic, and mdiehl retaliated. That thread was removed by thread security to protect the reputation of the trolls from the Thread who deliberately scuttled a historical discussion.

mdiehl took issue with the claim that US dive bombers sucked. Then the usual suspects went after him for politely stating his honest opinion.

Matrix can bring the thread back and the truth will be known. I doubt it disappeared to protect mdiehl.

PS - History seems to show that US dive bombers performed quite well - even in '42.

I didn't see the thread but I agree, because that's pretty much how it always happens: mdeihlio discussing something normally, and then a unnamed bald-headed loudmouth shows up to pinch one off for no reason. Then his buds come in to complain the thread is off topic and start mob-beating mdiehlio. Like it's his fault [:D]

Not that I'd know, I have dealio set to ignore too [8D]

Congratulations on derailing that guys topic.. I read it and he was just wondering about reasons for the outcome of that fight. He was trying to learn and there were people helping him...

Real life results are simply another topic. Create your own thread and express your opinion there.. Leave the people playing the game alone..

Real life results were the subject of either the OP or the first reply to the OP. Are you suggesting he derailed his own thread?
