Symbols?

Post by Bullwinkle58 »

No one would ever accuse me of knowing all the ASCII symbols used in the various dispays. I just noticed two and I don't know what they mean.

Sub TF, returning to home base at Manila. In the Set TF Routing, Patrol Zone line/button on the ship screen the symbols ~(!!) appear at the end.

I was under the impression that the tilde showed the unit was off-map (so I was wrong there) , and I have no idea what the exclaimation marks mean. The boat is green on fuel and has one torpedo salvo left in one bank, and zero in the other. It's an S-class. It's undamaged.

Any help on what these two tell me?

First one is routing - I dont know what ~ is as all TFs of mine either have nothing for normal or ** for safer, safest or absolute.

Second one is the threat tolerance. (!!) = absolute. + is high, - is low and nothing is normal again.

Ah. That helps. The only other ~ I have on a sub is on one in the off-map route from Balboa to PH.

The (!!) is so rare for subs I've never noticed it. I don't recall setting that. Since I'm still at 20 Dec. 41 maybe it started that way.

So, anybody else on what the ~ means?

They only appear if you have also turned a routing control other than normal. Basically indicating two TF routings.

As for the Tilda I have no idea.
