Upgrading issues

I noticed two things regarding the upgrading of troops.

1.) The Rifle/SMG-upgrade applies to cavalry as well, but not to paratroopers. It seems like paratroppers can not be upgraded at all, which does not feel right.

2.) You can not upgrade ships which are not located in a port manually (via the 'upgrade' button which appears when you click on an units icon), which makes perfect sense (since you would need something like a dock to do it).
However you can still upgrade these ships using the auto-upgrade option in the supply screen.

1) you're right that para's can't be upgraded. It doesn't feel right but one could argue that even late in the war para's didn't pack a much heavier punch compared to early war para's. Yes there were light AT guns and light Artillery guns paradropped, but so were they early war. Still it would make sense to make them upgradable.
 
2) right about that too, though I'm not bothered by it. As soon as I get an upgrade in ships and can afford the cost I upgrade them via the auto-upgrade. Although it makes sense to make that only possible in harbours. You could even make it so that BB's take say 6 months to undergo an upgrade. I mean these things are *big*, an upgrade in guns and whatnot costs months.
Maybe in AT Gold II who knows.

1.) I did not even think about paradroppable heavy equipment - you got a point there.
I rather meant the infantry equipment that paratroopers share (more or less) with the average grunt. At the moment we can hand out high tech rifles to each and everyone but the paratroopers.

2.) Neither am I bothered - it's nothing important.
(Seems to me that Vic tried to prevent us from upgrading at sea and missed auto-upgrade; that's why I mentioned it.)

I do read & thanks for reporting the sea upgrade bug. I am planning to do at least a small patch after i got DC2 Case Blue released and firmly on the road.
