anyone jump into the new DLC

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

anyone jump into the new DLC

Post by budd »

I'm going to have to wait until i get over my 001 error I can't play the DLC I already have. Good news is that graviteam is going to release an alpha patch to try to address the 001 error, sounds like soon. So anyone buy the new DLC.....thoughts..opinions anyone. If the 001 gets fixed i'll be jumping for sure.

I played some quick battles in Krasnaya Polyana this morning, just to look the map over.Haven't tried the campaign game yet.I find most of the map about 3/4 of it rather bland. But,at least it was some where different for my troops to do battle. It seems the terrain in the Ukraine is like the terrain in Kansas (monotonous). If you've seen one town, you've seen them all.LOL.I leveled Krasnaya Polyana with artillery and it was like.Been there, done that!My troops need new, exciting and exotic places to visit,so we can destroy It!

20 Turn operations. So the biggest so far, playing the Germans on the second turn. Though I'm touch tired of snow around Kharkov in 43 I still want more operations! These two are monsters so should really tax the old brain.

Bought from GG with my IGN prime discount so was around £12.

I bought it and I am also on turn 2.

I don't find the terrain bland at all, at least not so far. There is some interesting higher ground across the river and a number of small lakes to contend with.

Anyway, if the terrain is accurately reproduced and that's where the fighting took place, well...?

I've reached turn 4 as the Axis. I did a vanilla install and then added only the latest patch and the new DLC. No other mods or add-ons.

Zero crashes since that re-install.

I really like the 20 turn scenario. You have a clear break-through phase, then an exploitation phase with Soviet counter attacks coming in. The Axis mission is a rescue effort to relieve and re-supply the 320 Inf Div at the southern edge of the map, so the goal is very clear.

The map is great - a mix of river/flood plain, villages, woods and hills that provides a number of tactical options. I chose to avoid a direct assault on the only bridge and made a flanking move across a ford, but the AI was ready for that and I had a tough fight to clear the initial objective.

Very satisfying overall, and it takes the game to the next level of maturity, IMO.

sounds good, Hopefully the patch will allow me to pick this up. I'm still running 577 and the feb patch and nothing else, not one error yet. I'm going to finish this op and then add 1 of the add-ons and try that under 577.

I've been trying two things to avoid the crashes, but I'm not sure which one did the trick:

1. I leave all the graphics options on the default setting chosen by the game after installation.
2. I did a complete re-install before updating, after using the uninstall .exe that comes in the game folder.
