Check My Carrier Editing Please.

Post by DivePac88 »

I there Guys, I working-up my own light BB/CV mod for Scenario 2. Most of it is pretty strait forward, but I had to create HMS Furious from scratch. So I was wondering if you editors could check these screenshots please.

She will also have a refit available in mid 1942, with 2 more MkVIII pom-pom mounts, and the 0.5 Vickers replaced with Oerlikon 20mm mounts.

I'm not expert on the Furious class, but you have no apparent errors in the setup.

from Conways 'all the worlds fighting ships' in 1939 she was re-armed with 12 x 4in/45 QF (6XTWINS) , 3 x 8-barrelled pompoms with a fourth added in april 1941 and subsequently (date?) 15 x single 20mm oerlikons.--Fleet air arm web site states same but with 20 x 20mm oerlikons

another book 'Aircraft carriers by david hobbs gives 12 x 4inch , 4 octuple pompoms , 4 twin 20mm and 7 single 20mm orlikons
also endurance at 3700 miles at 20 knots in 1940
just a bit more info to mull over

The MG look at bit odd. You have 4 in 6 turrets on the RS and 4 in 5 turrets on the LS. I have no idea if it makes any difference at all.
I think that the two obligations you have are to be good at what you do and then to pass on your knowledge to a younger person

Looks like Big B's. It's on his WITP website. I forget the address though.

EDIT: here's the url for Big B's site: https://sites.google.com/site/bigbsshipyard/home

Thanks for the comments Guys, I have taken you info on board, and made some changes to Furious.

I apologize to you artists, as I had assumed that your sides and backgrounds, were open source the same as the games art. I had only used Big Bs art work, to cut down the time it took me to get my mod done, so I could play it ASAP.

So to make everyone happy, I have started doing all my own Art work for my mod. So here is my first ship for my mod, the battleship Tosa from scratch, and will start my own Furious now.

I don't think there would be any problem with using art already out there for your mod. That's generally what we post our stuff on the Internet for is so people can use it. Generally I just stick a quick note in the readme file for the mod noting who's art I used. No big deal.
