Can an Axis ship be renamed?

For that matter, can an Allied ship in general be renamed?

I don't mean if its name ends in II that a player can rename it,

I mean can a modder specify - as for a land or air unit -

on this date rename to that name?

If so, how?

You mean other than in the editor? If so, I dont know how.

there is no rename ability for ships like land/air units in that during the game it's name will change at some time. the only way to rename a ship is if it is a II & only if it's still in the queue as once it arrives it's set to whatever it enters as even if that is the II name otherwise it's name is only w/ the editor/scenario database says it is.
