Are the grand campaign DLCs a must-buy?

Fans of the old Panzer General series rejoice for the release of Panzer Corps. Following in the footsteps of the popular SSI masterpiece and sharing with the General series the same level of engagement and strategic depth, Panzer Corps will keep an unmistakable "PG feeling" whilst improving and refining the gameplay and balance. Panzer Corps will feature 26 scenarios on 21 unique maps, covering most major battles of the European Theatre of World War II and including a few hypothetical 'what if' scenarios based on your actions. Now expanded with a full-war mega-campaign and the Afrika Corps and Allied Corps releases!

Are the grand campaign DLCs a must-buy?

Post by towerbooks3192 »

Ok I finally decided to buy Panzer Corp and Afrika Korp but hold off until Friday so I won't be tempted to skip work (heck even the demo is giving me tons of fun). I was wondering if I should buy all the grand campaign DLCs (all of them because I think I have OCD and I must have all of the DLCs of a particular game)as soon as possible? I mean is it really a must-buy ASAP or I could play the heck out of PzC and AK before deciding to buy the DLCs? (maybe use the $30+ I could spend now on the DLCs towards other games and purchase all the DLCs only when I am bored with PzC and AK?)

Oh yeah I have one more request for the people who made this game:

Please put all the grand campaigns (and future non-stand alone DLCs) in one pack for the boxed copy because the difference of the boxed price and the digital download is huge!! I don't mind paying the extra for Panzer Corp and Afrika Korp box copies because they are so great that I want to have a boxed copy but the grand campaign's boxed price would kill my wallet. [:)]

Sorry for asking questions over and over again before purchasing the game. I just want to make sure my money is well spent on games I purchase in this economy. [:)]

A definite plus one. I'm about to buy one or more of the DLC's, but rather I'd buy them all at once *plus* the complete package on one DVD.
So one DVD and one d/l puhlease??

As to your question, pro; you really want to see all of your forces from 39-45, now don't you? And each of the DLC's ain't too expensive. So yeah go for the whole package.

con; there's always, and this goes for every other game too, the chance that you burn out on a game before you have finished all of the DLC's. Play it to death and all of a sudden *poof* no urge to play it anymore. So that would be a waste of money. I had this with Fall Out 3, played it for hundreds of hours, bought some DLC's, but never finished some of them...

So no good answer, as it stands now I'll buy the DLC's for PC one at a time with no physical disc, 5 times 10-15 € for d/l and shipment is a bit much for a DLC I think.

Hey Josh!

I got the same experience with fallout 3 and that made me think about it.I played the heck of it and when I finished the main story at 100 something hours I did not bother with the DLCs (I guess I only played operation anchorage to get the T-51 B armour).

Well I guess I would buy all of the DLCs when I will buy the game because its not that bad and yes I am very disappointed about the boxed edition of the DLCs. No problem with the extra cost of PzC vanilla and AK boxed edition because they are reasonable but I guess $14 extra just for a box for a DLC is too much
