Revised 1.50 Patch for SoW Gettysburg

Post by Andrew Loveridge »

Hi All,

We haven't figured out all the issues, but we have a revised installer that will address some of the issues. It will allow you to choose your directory, and change the registration of the Map Packs if you already tried installing once and need to re-install. Be sure to change the install directory if you installed to a different directory than it suggests.

Revised 1.50 updater

Please let us know if this works for you.

FYI..just downloaded the patch and entered both Gettysburg and Antietam activation codes when prompted. Everything appears to be WAD, including the few mods I have been using.

What is WAD? I'm assuming OK, since this post stayed idle.

The updated version worked no problem here, it found the correct installation location, asked for the the original supplied codes for GB and then Antietam (glad I kept THEM).
The game loaded, mods et all, and all was good. ;)

Hello,

I had SOW Gettysburg already installed on my computer from back in 2010. I installed the 1.5v update today. After, that I decided to purchase the Antietam add-on from Matrix, downloaded and installed it and applied the verification code supplied. However, now when I start up the game I no longer get a deactivate option on the game screen. Everything seems to work okay, but why is it no longer available and will I need the deactivate option in the future? Thanks.

Because the patch removed the drm system from the game. No longer need to activate and deactivate the game which is a great thing. You just do it nowadays by using your game codes during install.

After my previous positive remarks, I've since installed Win7 64, which I needed to completely re-intall SoW Gettysburg and the Antietam add-on.
Things did'nt go quite as well as before I'm afraid.

After a lot of figuring out (patches, codes etc) I finally got SoW to run in non-demo mode - BUT no Antietam. It installed ok and the files are in the correct place when I checked my SoW install folder, but it simply will not show in-game.
I'm running the 1.5001 patch of course.

I suspect registry problems, but I'm asking for a little help here if poss? :)

thanks
David

I dont know if this will help, but here's a thread with people with a similar problem. It does seem to be something with the registry. I'd post there, your likely to get more help quickly there. Re: addon files in their directory, but not showing in the game.

Thanks for the suggestions, I did get it all working in the end. It did take a lot of mucking about with fresh installs etc.
I'm sure some sort of quantum mechanics took place though in the process to get it all working in the end.
It all just fell into place!

Wouldn't accept serial number ???
In game all writing for Single Player Exit, etc is not there just a brown block that works when clicked on ...even after several re-installs still the same.
Now on Win 10 and loaded from my purchased cd.
Is there an issue with Win 10 ?
I also have Waterloo which was fine until I searched for updates which loaded and that caused game to stop working when initialising. I uninstalled then re-installed and works ok again without using the update.[8|]
