Soviet Bombers (U-2) intercepting?

Not too sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour. Playing new campaign as Soviet under Beta 1.03 against Axis AI. Checked through the history of German attacks and saw this:



As far as I can tell a load of U-2s got shot down trying to intercept an air strike. They are the 'sewing machines' and only part of bomber units (havent managed to find any in fighter units).

Under my last game I used to get Soviet bomber units intercepting my Axis air strikes, but that was before I downloaded the Beta patch. Is this intended behaviour or a bug? Just wondering if it is a desperation Soviet tactic or something, although I do have plenty of fighters available.

Totally different thing, but on the map 'Maikop' is spelt 'Maiko', not too sure if this is intended, but it does spell it as 'Maikop' if you look at the information on the top centre of the map. Spelt this way on both levels of close zoom.

No its not desperation tactics. Though it would have been an interesting feature to add

I just checked it and the SFType U-2 has the wrong settings. Its set to rear-area: false while it should be rear-area:true. I will fix this for v1.04. Thanks for reporting this.

is this avoidable if you set intercept zero for all bombers?

i noticed my bomber numbers were really low and i noticed these intercepting too.
so i set them and all divebombers unit to no interception.

Cheers Keunert, I'm going to do that now. My first campaign as Soviets, so not really noticed before.
