crash to desktop

Was 20 minutes from finishing a tight Elsenborn ridge scenario when the game crashed to desktop. Unfortunately, I did not have a recent save. Is there any info that might be useful?

Also just want to say I really love the game.

Save regularly, I guess (but you knew that already....) . I haven't had any crashes in BFTB, but I used to have loads in COTA at certain points - same points each time.
