Error "Entry Point DecodePointer... KERNEL32.dll."

I purchased and downloaded the LSA game today from Matrix, but when I attempt to execute the install then I get the following error...

"ENTRY POINT NOT FOUND
The procedure entry point DecodePointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

Any ideas?

system:

Sony
Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 1.
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
2.54 GHz
1.24 GB of RAM

I downloaded XP Service Pack 2 and that resolved the issue.
