Polish drop zones

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Polish drop zones

Post by TMO »

In the current simulation the Polish A/T units arrive on D1. Acording to

http://www.pegasusarchive.org/arnhem/depth_groundplan.htm
Finally, on the third day, Major-General Sosabowski and his 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade Group would land their heavy glider-borne equipment on LZ-L

Can anyone explain why these units arive on D1 when the above suggests they should arrive on D3? I can't find anything in the literature that suggests why D1 is the date of arrival for these A/T assets. I'd be most grateful if someone could clarify this for me.

IIRC the two AT tps were included in the first lift because they had space in their gliders. One thing to bear in mind with airborne lifts is that the force is often divided into serials, with one serial per plane or glider and that often units are spread across serials. That's why they need time to reorg on landing. Available space often has priority over keeping units together.

My mistake - they do arrive mainly on D3 with one unit on D2. Sorry for wasting your time.
