Should I Move On ?

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

Should I Move On ?

Post by TableTop66 »

OKAY! it's November, Matrix released Achtung Panzer on 22 March, and we still have no patch and no

Expansions released [:@].

Up till 2 days ago Achtung Panzer has been on my computer for 8 Months unpatched.

I gave the updates from graviteam a try following the How to install Thread by Txema, which went

well.

Now that the game is patched I'am looking at the DLC's over at Gamersgate and strategyfirst with frustration.

I have reached the point where I must decide if should wait a little bit longer and see if

Matrix is going to release a patch and the expansions, or should I uninstall the game, head over

to Gamersgate or strategyfirst and buy the game again with the expansions all at once.

I hesitate to buy from Gamersgate from what I understand the game installs while connected to the internet

with no option to reinstall later if you should wish reformat your hard drive to reinstall windows.

Does anybody Know if the Strategyfirst versions are Downloadable EXE'S that can be saved to disc for later

reinstall.

Any Help from you guys who have these versions much appreciated.

Sorry Matrix I have tried to be patient, but your Silence is Golden Policy just doesn't sit well with me anymore [:-].

Cheers Jimbo

From what I have heard you can patch and also install DLC using the Matrix version as the base game so you wouldn't need to buy APOS over again.

GamersGate does not give you an installer like Matrix does but you can download and install from them as many times as you need to. No download limits.

It is frustrating Old Gamer 66, would like to buy the DLC available to but don't want to install an app (GamersGate) to download/install a game I bought. Plus when looking at the GanersGate website it sounded like they take direct credit payments thus requiring some to get paypal or a couple other options to buy [8|]

Come on Graviteam/Matrix get your act together so that we can buy the DLC here along with the game!

I use Matrix and Gamersgate. I haven't really noticed anything about the GG process that would make me hesitate to buy from them - I just use a normal credit card as I don't even have a PayPal account, so I'm sure what that's about. You are certainly missing out on the new DLCs, which are great, and waiting for Matrix looks like a hopeless activity.

By the way, after the GG install you are asked if you want to keep the download files on your hard drive. If you say yes, it's then possible to do a re-install without re-downloading. I did this myself, but it was months ago and I can't recall the exact process, but there are threads that describe this as I recall.

I was nervous about using gamersgate myself, but apos made me take the leap. I just don't like my CC info out to that many places on the web, so i opened a paypal account and use moneypak to put funds in [$4.99 cost to load card]. I did have to put my SS# in one time to load using moneypak, i didn't care for that much. I haven't had any problems and like Redmarkus says just save the files on your computer after install and then all you will have to do is log in with your GG account info to reinstall as many times as you want. I jumped because i got apos and the first 2 addons for under $25.

I have been buying from GG for years and they are way better the Steam - IMO. I found them when I went looking for Steel Fury Kharkov 1942.
Plus the "Blue Coins" have picked up a few "free" games [:D]
