Unit experience???

Post by CarnageINC »

Why is it that units with long standing combat experience are not given some kinda bonus versus a just created unit? I know that after losing so many MP's that new units are given a hit, but there should be some kinda reward system for units that survive?

Again an intern argument we had over and over: do we give units experience bonuses, in the end we found it hard to find a good balance with them and especially in WW1, units thrown into battle were often decimated and front rotation was constant, casualty rates and carnage so heavy that we voted against it.

Maybe something we could look at for an expansion, but you would be amazed how small, at first time simple and trivial new features, can screw up game balance.

I was also wondering about unbalancing the game. What you say about rotation and casualties is something I guess I didn't put to much thought into but I can see your point. Thanks [:)]
