Production Bug?

Post by warspite1 »

When Brussels falls I get a message to say the Belgians have lost their production centre. However I can still repair a Belgian Infantry with left over points - is that right or should ALL production / repair cease?

It looks like it means is that you can no longer produce new units, however so long as you have points remaining in the Belgian pool, or if you still have Antwerp and the resources it generates each turn, then you can still continue to repair any remaining Belgian units. What is interesting, and might be a bug though I'm not sure, is that after Brussels falls, it seems that while you can no longer access the Belgian technology screen the Belgians still get tech upgrades occasionally.

Being able to repair, but not create new units, is intentional. It's a feature, not a bug [;)]

If you re-capture a lost capital, can you again start to build units from that country? I've recaptured Belgium but cannot see any option to build units again.

Yes you should be able to. Is it just that you don't have enough PPs? If not, could you upload the savegame here and I'll have a look to see if it's a bug.

OK, Belgium seems to be only producing a Production point every so often and the opportunity to produce only comes about infrequently - but it does work. Thanks anyway.

The longer you hold the cities the more you will get as PP outputs will gradually replenish, simulating the rebuilding of the city(s)

As BYU 14 said, if you've just liberated Belgium their production will be rock-bottom. This is because all their production centres will be fully damaged. Give them time (and peace), and they'll start producing again.
