Strength effect on, ah, Strength?

Strength effect on, ah, Strength?

Lets say we have two infantry units, all the same stats and tech, same efficency. No terrain bonus.

Will a 10 strength be twice as effective inflicting damage to an enemy unit as the 5 strength unit. Or are these two units just as effective on the attack, with the 10 strength unit only having an advantage on how much damage it could sustain?

Attack & defense are affected by strength points, but not as simple as that. The weaker a unit gets the stronger the effect on defense and especially on attack (damage to enemy). So the difference between a 10 and 9 strength infantry is smaller then between 5 and 4 strength. So a near full strength army is still a decent match to a full strength one, but the weaker it gets to more problems it has to operate effective.
