Missing black range circle Emily(no zeta16)

Using last official patch 1108r9

In my pbm game as the japs I have just switched a patrol float group from mavis to emily. mavis has range of 25 and the black range circle shows on the map just fine. emily has a range of 30 and NO black range circle appears. I am worried that the emily for some reason is not searching at all - that would be really bad as who knows what nasties my esteemed opponent might be sneaking up on me ! screendump of emily group attached.

any suggestions ? is this user error of some kind or maybe a bug related to range of search ? is emily actually searching ?

Try a better resolution [;)] 30 hexes are probably not showing here...

I do notice it takes a little time to draw on screen though... Not sure that 30hexes will find much though
