Troop Transpost as Japs in Australia

Post by DoomedMantis »

I have taken Cooktown and advanced to Ayrton just beow this, but it wont let me move any further down the road towards Cairns. It keeps coming up with a message of NOT ALLOWED. Has anyone else encounted this and if so is it a feature of the game. I hope not because the idea of having to use invasion fleets all the way down the coast is not that appealing, especially when there is a perfectly good road to use. The hex below is occupied as well.

Try picking some city down the road as destination, say - Townsville or Brisbane :)

May sound stupid, but this may make your infantry moving, and when they get to desired hex just stop them.

I have tried as IJN to take Noumea against the AI a number of times have been slapped. I once had 60,000+ troops and they still failed.....I just don't see how it can be done. Same with invading Oz, took Cooktown but was never able to set a foot into Cairns. The AI just had too many troops there and the supply line was impossible to cut. I would be real interested to read how your attemps develop.

Cut supply

Post by DoomedMantis »

Ive cut the supply to Cairns, but I think it will be a while before the full effects will be felt (landed a regiment at Innisvail at the same time as taking Cooktown). Cooktown actually had more troops than Cairns, so by the time that they retreat into Cairns I am hoping they will be more exhausted than my advancing troops (pity the japs didn't think to load trucks). Either way I expect to take Cairns within the next few days.

I dont expect to be able to try to takle Noumea for at least 10 days due to supply problems. I have to try to supply cooktown up first before I can release my transports for an invasion.

60k troops and still failed. It may actually be more than 10 days then.
