Indian conversion to motorized divsions

I see the 17th and 19th Indian divisions are renamed to motorized divisions in 1945 and can upgrade to where they have a lot more motorized support. But do they become mobile like motorized brigades or are they still stuck with their old infantry movement rate?

Don't think it does remembering back. I vaguely remember looking at that and came to the conclusion the game cannot change the type of unit when it renames. To do that you would have to withdraw it and return it as a entirely different unit.

I think they convert to mech inf with better movement (ie Armour)

2 Indian Div converted back to fully motorised formations in 45 after Mandalay

If they upgrade to a "mech" TOE, then the unit type would be upgraded from memory.
A name change by itself wont alter the unit type.

TOE I set it to armoured so it should change

Andy, while we are on the topic. Should the two Soviet motorized divisions be mobile units as well? They both have over 600 truck support and 100 AFVs. There are a couple of motorized regiments as well.

Yes they should but it was never deemed important enought to change
