Disrespect For The Navys Of The World 1914 - 1918

I have come late to this game, and I must say I like it alot, but my main interest of the period is the Naval warfare, being British I'm proud of the Naval history of the UK.Now to my major concern with the game, allowing all the major powers just 1 Battleship counter each, is baffling to say the least,I think there would be a huge outcry if the land forces were treated in the same manner,by giving Germany,Russia,France etc just 1 Army counter, and tell them to defend your borders with just 1 counter?

Well I keep reading within the forum, people asking whats the point of having the ship counters anyway, there is a mission that I have yet to see written about regarding using the German Battleship counter,it was a tactic used early in the war by Admiral Hipper Battlecruisers, and that was doing bombardment missions to the English coastal towns,in an attempt to get the British admiralty to spread out the Grandfleet into squdrons to protect the coastal towns,Giving the Germans a possible chance to engage parts of the Battlefleet on equal terms.

Unfortunately I have to agree. The land side of the game is excellent and has a good WWI feel to it, but the naval war is about as close to reality as Monopoly is to modern property managment. For some this is not an issue, but I prefer wargames to at least attempt to model what actually happened. Thankfully in single player mode as the Entente I have hit few problems and can dispose of the German fleet quite easily by baiting it, after which the naval surface war becomes a non-issue.
