smoke question

Playing the Monsters firefight - fired smoke on top of one of the forward Panzer IIIes - AI fired on the tank - the +2 for the smoke that I thought I should have was not shown in the attack summary - should I be getting the 15 frontal defense plus 2 for the smoke?

Based on the rules, yes you should get a Frontal DV of 17 (see attached screen capture for exact wording). However as Eric has stated in other threads, the game's long evolution meant it isn't always using the v2 Rules so he'll have to confirm to be sure.

version 1 of the rules is much the same. +2 on the first turn.

Thanks for the report. Smoke should provide a +2 defensive bonus in the first round. I can't reproduce this problem after a quick test. If you have a save file in which this error is occurring, would you mind zipping it up and posting it here or sending it to me at ericbabe@west-civ.com?

There are a couple ways in which smoke does not work as in the board game. Smoke doesn't have height levels -- it blocks any LOS passing through it. Smoke also blocks LOS along hex sides, though the computer game's LOS engine generally allows LOS to pass along hex sides.
