WarInTheEast Application has stopped working

At the game menu I get a pop up saying "WarInTheEast Application has stopped working' after clicking on "play".

The game then crashes back to the Game menu when I x-out or click on "Check online for a solution to this problem".

I bought a new computer and am doing a reinstall of the game. I am running Windows 7 inside a Mac using Parallels 8. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and even downloaded the latest update 106.19 and still no luck.[:(]

Can anyone help? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love this game.

Try installing just the 1.0 version without any updates and see if it crashes. If not then install the .19 and see if it crashes.

Make sure you have 3D video turned on and that you have sufficient video RAM allocated to your virtual machine.

It's working!

I turned the 3D on and increased the RAM a bit. Tested the game (v100). Installed the latest patch (106.19) and it ran with no problems. I now have the DTTD expansion pack installed and just finished playing a turn in one of my games .

Hello guys,

I have the same problem here: when I try to start War in the East, I get "WarInTheEast Application has stopped working." I know that this thread in old but maybe someone reads this and helps me.

Error detailed (attached txt).

Specs: Corei7, AMD Radeon 290X, Windows 10 Home.

I have no idea what to do; I tried all the compatibility tab settings but to no avail. I don't think the solution with 3D video ON applies to my system, I am not using a virtual machine. I also tried to rename the video folder to "_video"; no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
