Air Support For Ground Units Needing Supplly

When I attempt to fly missions to resupply spearhead units, the default item delivered to the unit is always fuel. Most of the time, that is what is needed.
But sometimes the unit needs ammo or general supplies. What is the method to fly in these items instead of the default fuel? Thanks

F9 + shift: the screen that pops up offers the choice to select between supply or fuel to be delivered ("lift type", lower right corner).

I must be doing something wrong. I get no screen to pop up at all. What can I be missing?

you must choose an airbase allowable before "shift"
