Repalcements on/off

Post by jeffk3510 »

I am playing two day turns, I and must have set all units to accept replacements.

I can't seem the change this in the course of the game now. It wouldn't be a problem if I were playing one day turns (which I can switch to, I just don't want to). I want all new units to have replacements OFF. I just didnt' set it up that way on the initial file.

The reason it is a bother, is that on two day turns, by the second day all new arriving planes and LCUs drain the pools before I can turn off their replacements.. rather annoying.

I was curious if I could change this in an ongoing game?

Thanks.

It looks like you know the answer already, but if you wanted confirmation - no, you are apparently stuck with that option for the remainder of the game. No toggle switch once the game starts, trying to load the game using different options doesn't work, and the "turn off all replacements option" in game only effects units already in play. Sorry, Jeff.[:(]

IIRC Michael did something with that in the recent round of Beta patches. I'm pretty sure that (when using the air display - the 'a' hot key) you can toggle to all units that have not yet arrived and switch them to not accept replacements. Check out the Beta release notes.

You can. There's a toggle at the bottom of the air group reinforcement screen.

Thank you for the useful information.

How do I install the new beta w/o it affecting my current PBEM that we have decided not to upgrade yet?

Thanks.

Is this the same game that you are reporting the problem with? If so, you can't.

If it's a different game (save game), the Beta automatically installs to a sub folder called 'Beta2", and makes its own shortcut that points there. Of course you will want to edit the shortcut to make it have the switches that you have already worked out for your 'regular' shortcut.

An alternative is to have a different installation for each PBM. That's what I do and what a lot of people do. Just make a complete copy of your AE folder and name it something else. Then set up different shortcuts that point to it. Threads have been written on this guiding people how to do it but I don't have a link.

Thank you for the help guys.

Installed the newest beta, and that fixed it. Leaving older beta in place for my ongoing PBEM game that we haven't switched to new beta in.

Thanks.
