Credit Where it is Due

Post by Jeremy Pritchard »

Without the help of one dedicated PacWarrior the most recent patches of Pacific War would have been impossible.

Mika Valiviita has done some amazing work in fixing countless bugs and adding inumerable additions.

However, most of the individual things he changed and fixed were so minor that they are un-noticable, but these fixed invisible bugs as to make gameplay a whole much better.

His editors are amazing and has managed to ensure that the game will be popular and playable until "War in the Pacific" will inevitably overshadow it. However, for all of the hours he spent looking at those little hex numbers and code, to try and figure out what things meant, he deserves our thanks!

As a former programer I can appreciate the effort/struggle/despair of searching through someone elses code to find a problem.

THanks! We do appreciate it. THis and ACW are the only games that I play and look forward to play.

Take a bow!!!

Post by moore4807 »

I hope you don't feel your work here is underappreciated, please look at the THOUSANDS of posts made on this board arguing/agreeing and offering advice/tips/hints and just good old support from the PacWar community. Jeremy and Mika (and others) have kept this game alive and kicking well past its day...

Please take a bow and accept our thanks in the many tiny ways - we post our experiences, arguments, and follies for all to see and it is directly because of your efforts that we're here at all....I thank you for many hours "lost" strategy gaming in PacWar - my frustration at my own stupid blunders - only to find out I wasnt the only one by reading others posts! The constant questions and feedback both of you have provided and reasonings to the "WHY" this or that was modified in the updated version (which there have been many...). The willingness to listen to the gamers who play the game too and answer our wish lists as best you can and keep us coming back for more.

Please accept our thanks as sincere - you both have deserved praise and awards - pretty much posting here is the best we can do as far as rewards

Good Job Gents!

I could list off dozens of other individuals who have also participated in the Pacific War patches, as well as the community offering vital factual contributions in the part as playtesters as well as historical advisors. This game is a product of a vast number of people's input and work and would not be the game it is without it.
