Editing Bug?

This happened to me in 2.3, and now also in 4.0 when trying to create a beach on a size 10 map. What happens is the editor freezes, requiring a ctrl-alt-del to kill it...and the game. Has this happened to anyone else? Am I alone? My system specs are P-3 450, 128megs. Any thoughts?

Ryne, I have a feeling you are using the 1/2 beach - ocean button to do this. Am I right?

Don't use it. Make your own beach. That button has problems. It always has. I recommend in the scenario design tutorial in the manual that for creating beach maps that you simply click in the water and make your own.

Look at Omaha Beach scenario. That one is done on a size 10 map and no problem. But you will have problems if you use that 1/2 beach, 1/2 ocean button.

Thanks WB. You are right on the money, it was the half ocean/beach button. I guess I should have opened up that tutorial first, but some of us 'hard heads' like to dive right in---which, of course, requires being saved by the pros, as you have just done.

Of course I could blame it all on you, because Steel Shield inspired me to give a size 10 map a try. Damn if that wasn't the best Scenario I'd played in a long time. Taught me to value my infantry when those tigers came prowling.
