A quick note to all...

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

A quick note to all...

Post by CapnDarwin »

I know our presence has been slight over the past week or so and it is going to be in and out over the next two weeks as we get the game and supporting materials ready to show off at Historicon on the 18th and 19th of July. We have been updating sounds, art, AI, killing some very esoteric bugs thanks to our Beta testers and Charles with his "Hawkeye" for details and out of place game behavior. Mad Russian has been knocking out updated and balanced scenarios and hitting the campaign game too. We also have a few more Beta-testers in our midst and we are getting them up to speed and also getting reports from them. We are very busy, I promise!

We are looking in and I do apologize for not getting more info up, but we are hitting crunch time and want to hit our "gold" target this summer.

Thanks for your patients! [&o]

This is really not meant to sound Snarky, I really want to buy the Game on release day, but please do yourselves and us buyers a big favor and have Matrix design a "light" version of the PDF manual, i.e  a clear font of black type on white paper. I won`t spend $75 worth of ink/print store costs on a colored watermarked paper or white type on black background or any other "artistic"  designs on top of the game price.

I think this is a big deal to many of us old gamers.

Thanks

Richard,
Already in the works. It will be posted when the game launches next week.
One question. What about the images?

Color images really enhance the manual and interface understanding IMHO, without increasing the printing costs much, so I like them. Also people can chose to print/have printed the pics in graytone if they so want to keep overall costs low.

Any idea of the page count yet ?

Looking forward to this release very much.

Game Manual - 166 pages
Quick Start/Tutorial Guide - 16 pages
FPCRS-Modding Guide - ?? - I'll wager it will get close to the century mark. It is in process now so no real idea. A ton of stuff to cover and a lot of images to help explain things like map making, scenario creation, data editing, etc.

You may still need to stock up on paper and ink some. [:D]
