Interchangeability between WF/EF/RS

Post by navwarcol »

I am trying to put together an alternate scenario where other Italian units take part in the Soviet campaign, just a what-if idea based on an alternate history. I can bring German troops from WF to EF, such as Panzer Lehr, etc by creating an .org file in WF, then opening it to use in the EF scenario editor. I also pulled over the Littorio Italian infantry division. However, the Italian troops, which were RSI Infantry in the WF, show up when I place them, as being combat engineers, and most of their equipment I cannot even place. I have figured out, of course, that it must be because that equipment is not part of the EF database. In Tiller's panzer campaigns, it is a simple thing to add equipment from one game to another in the org edit program, but I cannot seem to do that here. What am I missing?
Thank you.

I am no expert, but I have learned from Warhorse and Jason that when you want to port units from one game over to the other that you have to 1)edit the necessary oobs (platoon, company, battalion, and so on) so that each ported unit has a unique unit number that is different than all of the units in the game you are porting units from. Just use Word Pad to do your editing. 2)You will also have to edit the weapon.pdt file that corresponds to the platoon oob. Once you do that, you will have to have someone encrypt your modified files. 3)You also need to make sure that you port over all pertinent .bmp files (main game folder and Special folder) and all .bit files related to the platoon unit ID. There is tutorial available. I don't remember who sent it to me and I don't have access to my copy because I lost it when my old computer died. Just ask and someone will help you. Hope this helps. I had made an alternate Italian set, for use with my K'talan mod, you would need to use JSGME to use it, and alas, it is for WF, but it has the Celere Sahariana they were working on, a bunch of German-supplied tanks, SS, and other units in it, haven't looked at it for awhile, though!

Thank you both for the replies. It looks to be an undertaking, but I love a good challenge! [8D]
