Skip Bombing

Has anyone tried this, and if so how successful was it. I would assume that trying it against a TF with decent CAP would result in substantial losses, but have yet to try it.

You need to have a well rested squadron with high experience (80+ I think). I've only ever tried it as the Allies. I'm not sure if the Japs can do it but I wouldn't want to try as their planes are too fragile.

As the allies (when it does work), it's expensive but can be devestating to the target (I sent 2 IJN CV's to the bottom and suffered almost 50% losses to my 60+ B25/26's - the 4 squadrons were useless for a month after - mind you, the Jap CAP was ripped so badly that my follow up CV strike took out the other 2 IJN CV's.)
