Unit improvement.

Is there a chart anywhere of a unit class improvement line? For example, you can improve a PZ 38t to the PZ III line or the PZ IV line. It would be nice to know how far each line will progress in improvements to help decide which one to enter.
Thanks for any information.

Hello,

basically you can exchange all equipment of a unit with one of the same kind. So a tank unit can have any other tank available at that time(if its in production).
Within a line you get new equipment cheaper as they are based on the same basic model. The new models are based on history so Pz III and Pz IV will have more and stronger updates than Pz.38(t). Pz.IVs will get you the strongest of those three in the end and should be the best long term bargain.

Currently there is no chart for this, but we put it on the list to make one.

Thanks. You confirmed my thought that the PZ IV was the superior line even in this early war period. The bombing aircraft lines I'm not sure about. At this time the DO 217 is superior to the Ju 88 but I'm not sure that the DO was upgraded the whole war as the Ju 88 was. Same thing when deciding between the Me 110 vs. the Ju 87 as a ground support aircraft. Where I'm going with this is that I hope that this that this wonderful game sells enough to do a sequel adding later war years where you import your core forces with their exact strength and equipment. That would make your equipment line choices very meaningful in this title.

Hello,

in GaW the Do has no uprade but the Ju-88 does. The one with the most variants would be the He-111.
Me 110 vs Ju-87 they are simular just the Ju-87 is better in attack while its defense against aircraft makes it a "sitting duck" while the Me 110 has some ability in tht field but lacks the power on the attack side.
Me-110 is a bit more expensive to maintain ( a point that should also be consideres with the other duels)in average, but both high-end models are equal in that point.
Support units may balance a units' weaknesses out in the end.

Ronald,
Thank you for the exceptional support that you give! I really hope to see future additions to this excellent game.
When you mention that the He-111 has the most variants, would you be willing to elaborate? The He starts with lesser stats than the DO or the Ju-88 but perhaps the future variants will make the He an interesting line to continue? I find the lesser ammunition storage to be the He-111s' biggest drawback.
Thanks.

Hello stormbringer3,

you are welcome, always glad to help out.

The He-111 is getting more ammo and gets improved attack and defense values. Its equal on the attack side to the Ju-88 depending on what you prefer (He-111 being better at infantry/gun attacks while the Ju-88 will be a better tank killer) in the end.
He-111 is better on the defense but also more expensive to maintain.
