DirectX Error

Post by The Red Baron »

I've occasionally experienced the following error:

"DirectX to Renderer invalid call (Burst Mode)[] Would you like to terminate the application?"

No other choice is possible, and I have to blow out of my game.

This typically happens when I've minimized an active game to the task bar then later re-open the game to resume play. It's also occurred upon resuming a game following PC hibernation.

The engine has trouble with screen savers using DirectX. The only workaround is to quit the game if you have a screen saver that triggers too fast.

Is there a fix or setting to get around this error yet?
Just got a Dell Venue Pro 8 to be my take anywhere Matrix/Slitherine/Ageod game 'console' and want to get my Ageod games running on it.
I randomly get the Directx-Burst Mode error/CTD in the games I have currently installed (WiA, RuS, CWII).
Is there a setting(s) in AGESettings util I can do (Screen Mode/Window Mode/Mouse Cursor)?
Is there a Windows Compatibility setting I can do on the game executable?
Are their Windows system settings I can make to prevent this per above - screen saver, power display/sleep settings?

Loving Command and FPC on the tablet - if I can get my Ageod games reliably running I will be set.
Thanks
