Also, I can play it once ok, then I exit and if I try to play it again, without a computer restart, it hangs. When I shut down the machine I THEN get the dialogue asking if I'm sure I want to exit command, like it had still been somehow going in the background and couldn't shut down.

No, that definitely sounds abnormal.

Can you please post your system specs? (incl. OS and HDD).

It's a Dell xps 8100, W7, i5 (dual core, 4 'virtual') at 3.20Ghz, 8,192MB Ram, 13,9071 of page file available, direct x 11, Geforce GTX 460, 4.50MB, normal 1TB Hdd, about half of which is free.

Is that what you need?

I'm thinking of downloading from scratch and trying again. I can get it to work ok, but I have to restart the computer each time.

Hi all,

I've had this issue also. It opened fine the first time but then took several minutes to load the 2nd time. I closed the process from task manager eventually before trying again but it still took 2-3 minutes longer than the first time.

I have an i5 2500K overclocked to 6GHz with 8GB RAM and GTX 670 2048MB. When I exited the process, CPU usage was at 20% and I had GBs of RAM available.

Do either of you have anti-virus or security software on aggressive settings that might be trying to scan every file on the hard drive as it is used? Could you try disabling anti-virus/security software temporarily to see if that speeds things up at all?

Switched off real time scanning. Maybe a diff. Opens up fine first time and only took 30 secs to load. Closed it down (got the 'are you sure' dialogue) and started it again. Hangs like this; Doesn't open at all unless I restart my machine. But first I close it down in task manager. It appears to close down, but when I restart the machine I get a dialogue asking if I'm sure I want to exit command - like I said, as if it hadn't closed down in task manager.

I finally installed on my desktop this evening. It loaded after about a minute the first time. Every attempt after I get stuck with same image posted above, just sitting there.

Yep. Something broke. No idea what. Have updated graphics cards, tried installing .net framework 4.5, updated everything else I can think of, switched off virus checker etc. Same thing. First time it loads ok, then it hangs as above.

Can you try re-installing the DirectX pack from the PreRequisites folder? Thanks!

Done that. No use. Wiped it all, wiped the folder, downloaded it all again, installed from scratch. Same result. It plays once - taking a minute and a half t load. When I exit it will not start again - but just hangs indefinitely at the screen I posted above - until I restart the computer. I can end the process in the processes tab (as well as closing the applications) and get the same result. Even ending that process won't get it to work again without restarting my computer.

I have the same problem. I just have to wait for it to load, and it eventually does. (after 1 min or so)
