What are you drinking?

Post by histgamer »

So I've seen this thread called what game are you playing and that brings up another idea.

What beverage are you drinking? It doesn't have to be alcoholic but just what is you're drink of choice while playing a game? Colas? Beers? Mixed Drinks?

Currently I am enjoying Sam Adams Oktoberfest or Sam Adams Hopology Whitewater IPA depending on the mood.

Pepsi Max. Lots and lots of Pepsi Max. I tend to play the night away and it helps keep me sharp.

I usually have a nice cup of tea or just plain water, there is nothing so refreshing as peppermint tea or rooibos. Keeps you calm and relaxed. :)

That stuff kills me.

ATM, I'm drinking a cup of Tazo Zen tea. For lunch I had a freaky Japanese melon soda that was really weird tasting.

Coffee with a little milk (no sugar) or Radler (1:2 mix of beer and lemon juice).

I drink black tea as well with no sugar, Morrisons Red Label, cheap as chips but a really good taste. Main reason for the black tea and coffee is it tastes better but as I have no fridge I do not have much choice as I have an intense dislike of powdered milk.

Throwback for myself as well... Pepsi version. Nothing like good old fashioned SUGAR.

On the weekends I move to the beer, usually a lager, Sam Adams or Shiner. I've actually been drinking quite a bit of Mike's Hard Lemonade lately. Tasty stuff.

You are so correct. I have introduced some youngsters to the Throwback version and they are shocked at the superbe taste.

They must be selling really well, because at first they were only released as a limited time special. Several stores around here now carry at least a few cases at all times. I've made a few converts myself. One thing I noticed is that when people are accustomed to anything for long enough, they get used to it. Several people I've had try Throwback actually said it tasted like a diet drink! That's the insidious power that corn syrup has on the taste buds. It makes even sugar look tame by comparison. But give it time and your taste buds will remember. Then it's just a matter of enjoying a little nostalgia in a can.

I wish Coke would be more apt to do it like Pepsi does. There's Mexican Coke which has sugar, but it is insanely expensive to order and ship in.

Water, lots of water, oodles of water, hey what can I say, I don't sweat beer :)

When I fancy a treat though, hot chocolate with some (by some I mean about a cap full, think table spoon) of Cartier Irish Cream (wine based from Niagara region) and an equal amount of Cafe del sol (coffee liquor). It is just awesome, like drinking liquid coffee crisp bar :)

I like Gin and Tonic with a heavy dose of lime.

You can also always offer me a cold beer, just so long as it isn't that worthless Coors lite swill. In fact don't offer me anything with the word 'Lite' on the bottle.

I drink lots of tea. Without sugar and no milk. I try to mix different types of tea. Green, black, white or rooibos. Sometimes it is herbal tea.

I have introduced "Throwback" to some 20 somethings and they are stunned at how much better the drinks are with pure cane sugar. I told them the health nut Nazi's pressured the soda makers to switch. Ahhhh, the gold ole' days.

Extra strong black coffee 90% of the time, when I am seriously into a game.....Bottled beer 9% of the time, when I am ready to wind down playing a game....1% of the time I prefer four shots of Jim Beam, this is to numb the pain when smashing out the screen after getting disgusted with computers....[:D]
