Survivors ?

Post by ParachuteProne »

Any thoughts on placing possible survivors from Lost aircraft or sunk ships ?
Player could get points for rescuing each survivor.
Would make good use of SAR assets and add another tactical element to the game.

There are not survivors per se, but if you want to include a specific SAR/ CSAR or rescue operation you can simulate that with the event editor...

If a ship is sunk a small unit in a small boat will appear, then if you place a chopper over them, the unit "disappear" inside the chopper and when it land the unit will appear again giving them the credits of the rescue...

Same way to simulate airborne operations....[:'(]

I have a game I play where I'll drop a Reference Point (RP) at the spot that an aircraft goes down and name it CSAR-(TIME). I'll then try to get a helicopter or other rescue unit to that RP in under an hour if at sea and 30 minutes if on land. While there's no official score on this personal side-mission, it can be a lot of fun!
