General questions from avid simmer for those with game

Post by rss334 »

1) Is there any sound / music in the game?

2) In one of the videos there was a ve menu checkbox that appeared to load an image from google earth or similar, is that available for the entire world? If yes, is it already loaded or using an internet connection to load?

3) I've heard mention of land units, what kind of land battles are there if any? Are there assualt landings?

4) Can military planning be thought out before attacking a Country, as in I can recon with satalites the plan my strikes as in a real military campaign?

5) How are battles won lost? I don't assume it's a dynamic type game, rather units are placed during scenerio creation, so when/how do you win?

6) speaking of dynamic wars any plans?

7) As an example I want to create a war between China and the USA, do i have to manually create and place every unit? Can I set one or the other as agressor and will they attack me overseas?

8) will other nations join in?

9) How many units can be in a scenerio, if the USA and China went to war that would be a lot.

10) are there supply lines needed

11) What happens if I attack a neutral Country?

12) How is destruction on the map handled? If I'm aattacking a complex how would I know if it's damaged or destroyed?

13) is playing a game from the 1970's a lot different than say 2012.

14) how long can a scenerio last and can units regenerate or rather queue up for deployment?
Thanks look forward to raeding the replies.

edit * - I almost forgot to ask my most important question, I run triple screens 3072x768. will this game scale right?

1) No music, some sounds - they are a toggle in the menus.
2) AFAIK You create custom scenarios with custom GPS geodata from some external software GMap? and you import it into the game.

12) Units disappear under an explosion marker if they are hit and destroyed.
13) The game is tailored with specific hardware from the era of the scenario, so weapon loadouts and launch platforms, detection systems should reflect the time period.

It's all I got so far..

Yes. Someone has posted a pic of their setup that used 5 monitors!

1. The sound is bloody awful and there is no way of controlling the volume.

2-13. It's basically a tactical game. So most of the questions are irrelevant.

You could be a bit more diplomatic.

The volume can be controlled in windows volume mixer, just like any other application by right clicking on the volume button in the tray and opening "volume mixer"

As for the OP's other questions, it really depends on how much time/effort you want to put into the scenario editor. It is extremely versatile.
