How to cancel an order to strike plus other Qs

Post by funkymuppet »

How do you cancel an F1/Shift-F1 order to strike? In a scenario last night I'd ordered a frigate to bombard land installations - and it kept steaming toward them and got sunk. F3 and routing waypoints 180 degs the other way didn't have any effect. ESC had no effect - I didn't issue an overriding order for another target or mission - thought there must be a way to cancel existing strike orders.

Extending the question, how can you instruct weapons to fire but not allow any change in course?

My other thought is to create some kind of no-go zone around the land installations at a suitable distance.

Did browse the manual - but couldn't figure any answers to the above.

Thanks - JW

Unassign (U key) it from its' current mission. Or go to the Attack menu and tell it to drop all targets.

Is there any way to tell your planes to just land at a certain airbase. Mine refuse, even if it is a ferry mission.

1) Assign your aircraft a new base (using the right-click context menu).
2) Hit U to unassign the aircraft from their current assignment and remove them from any missions they're associated with.
3) RTB (using the right-click context menu)
