I found that if you open the time compression tab and hover your mouse over the different time settings, they are used as you hover over them, ie. speed up as you go from 1 to 5 to 30 sec etc and slow down in the reverse.
This seems like a feature that is not intentional (cannot recall reading about it in the manual), but is very convenient as you can very easily speed up and slow down the game without forever clicking this speed setting. Maybe the dev's can tell if this is correct?
