In order for me to promote a Division commander he must be detached from his Corp and must remain detached for the entire turn....correct? What is this supposed to signify? If the answer is nothing, then this should be changed.

Yes, that is how the engine currently works. However, it was discussed a while ago in the tester forum and I don't see a clear indication as to whether it is a bug or not. Checking again.

Have you tried clicking on the promote button while he was still part of the division and the sole unit selected? The code was improved on this aspect, but perhaps there is still a glitch.

Well in this case Sherman is eligible for promotion to 2 star. He is a division commander in a Corp. I execute the promotion button while he is stacked in the Corp and it doesn't take. When I detach him from the Corp and click promotion he is promoted to 2 star on the next turn. Probably needs fixing.
