Screen Rez

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Screen Rez

Post by Richard III »

Just downloaded the game. Fair price and fast download. Is there a way to adjust screen resolution ?

I`m getting full screen with kinda large icons with my default of 1920 x 1280 ?

The game runs in a full-screen window, it should adjust to your full desktop resolution by default and supports high resolutions and wide screen. I should add that you can resize the window to be smaller if you wish, but it should be maximized to your resolution when the game loads.

If you want smaller icons, the best way is to zoom the map out.

OK, thanks.

Can any game settings or video/audio settings be changed in the Configuration Settings file in the game folder ?

If you click on the User Preferences button from the main screen, as well as using F3 and F5 from within a scenario, you should see the available options.

Richard,
Sounds can be adjusted using the Game options in the main menu. There aren't any real video options. What in particular are you looking to do?

Check out the User preferences in the main menu or while playing a game under the pull down "View" menu select "Set Game, Player, and Unit Defaults" to change settings that are available to set.

I haven`t fully read the manual yet Jim, or fired up the tutorial scenarios.

I`m always big on personal customization so just curious about the top two "[Userpref]" settings numbers and "Combat Hint Font size=" and other stuff in there.

I hope to get into the game combat details tonight, but so far I`m very impressed with the clean UI and ease of accessing unit information on the main Map screen, as well as a useful mini-map.

Thanks

Rather than starting a new thread, my issue fits in here more or less. I would like to get the font size on the right hand panel a bit larger. I'm running in 1920x1600, which is of course the problem, but that's the native resolution of my screen and in the lower resolutions I've tried it is a bit too blurry. There is a Windows function that allows for larger fonts (125% and 150% are the two options), which I tried, and while 125% is just right for the right panel fonts, it makes the counter numbers too large and they overlap with the icons and unit designations and it makes them hard to read and ugly. Any suggestions?

Hondo1375,

added your issue to our features wish list to evaluate. Between windows OS font scaling and DPI changes and monitors ranging from 1024x768 up to 2550 X 1950 it is getting tough to cover all the bases. We'll see what we can do.

Thanks! The only option that isn't giving me eye strain at the moment is the one that has the jumbled counters.

This issue is being seen in other games too. It is on our list and we will need to explore some options to fix this. I'd like to say it's a quick fix, but in reality not so much.
