One order - different movement techniques?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

One order - different movement techniques?

Post by MikeAP »

Is there any way to issue a route order that has different movement techniques?

For example, a unit moves from its line of departure in a hasty movement (quick, enemy contact unlikely) then transitions to assault (enemy contact likely)

Currently, waiting for units to consolidate then issuing a new order is extremely time consuming and wasteful.

Not yet. That's on the list of improvements.

Yes, I feel your pain. I have been and will continue to campaign for more functions for movement routes and waypoints. It was a matter of whether we wanted to release this now or in another year. It is on our lists of additions to the game. So hopefully it will be added in the future. But the effort needed to add that now was just too much if we wanted to get the game out. We left a lot of things on the table that we hope we get to if the game is successful.

We have a list that the Beta Testers and the Development team has put together. I'll bring that here to the main forum when I get a chance.
