Hotkeys

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Hotkeys

Post by Monkie »

Enjoying the game greatly, I love the old school feel with the modern interface, very well done.

As far as the hot keys, is there a way I can edit them? For example instead of cntrl-V to hide victory point locations it would be easier to make it simply "V"

Right now the hot keys are hard coded. I believe we have a wish list item requesting the ability to set these.

I find myself turning the overlays on and off quite often so being able to use a single keystroke would be great, thanks.

i agree with Monkie...the original FPG had a single key to access allot of screens and was used allot. Not sure why u would move away from this.[&:]

Also, the M key no longer available. Can this be placed back?

Just getting started...

cheers.

I will check with Rob on both editing hotkeys and having single key use.

Tombo, what did the M key do for you in the past?

...its been awhile, but lets try. M-Key: I thought it provided the unit movement range based on the nearby terrain and the impulse (i.e. 20 min turn) that the unit could reach if no enemy contact was made. If contact, at that point, the SOP would kick in to the unit orders.

With the new orders timing and movement system the movement range function just failed to give a good or real estimate of timing on the map. We deemed it more confusing than helpful since everyone would see one time in the function and another on the map. So we dropped it.

We can add your request to have a movement type function added to the wish list and see if we can come up with something new that works.
