Graphics glitch

Sometimes parts of the map disappear and desktop icons appear instead. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Guys, What OS are you running? What are your text zoom and text DPI settings? Also language for the OS? We do have a few players with odd main screen bleed through of mouse functions but having the background bleed forward is a new one. Does it go away if you minimize or close the Matrix launcher? You can also try to start the game from the FPRS.exe in the main game folder and see if it still does this behavior.

Windows 7, German on my side. Graphics glitch sometimes while loading a scenario too. No idea abou text zoom and text DPI settings. Where do I find these?

Window's Control Panel - Display (100%, 125%, or 150%) and then also the set custom DPI selection in the left side menu.

This is very interesting - it sounds like the screen has simply stopped drawing itself for a length of time. Would it be possible to get a screenshot of this? It might really help me drill down to what specific components might be malfunctioning here.

Any news on this topic? With the patch applied there seem to be even more graphics glitches.

Probably a rehash question, what OS and what style theme do you run? We are finding that this ghosting issue and the lost SUI panel are all linked to the way windows does certain processes with the visible and invisible forms.

FWIW -- I'm running Win7. Often, after I watch a turn, when I click on the map the first time I go to desktop. It doesn't close FPCRS or anything, and I can easily access it again. Not a problem at all, just trying to give you feedback.

Tom, If you right click on your screen in Win7 and click on "Personalize" on the bottom of the popup menu, you will open the Theme settings. Aero Themes at or near the top seem to work better with our game than the Basic Themes (Windows 7 Basic and Widows Classic) found at the bottom of the Themes list. We are working to isolate why this is and fix it on our end (if we can). If you are is a basic theme and having these problems, try switching to an Aero theme and see if those problems go away.

Unfortunately switching to Aero does not fix this problem as suggested by Capn Darwin. I have noticed it myself and even brought it up in the developers meeting this past week. I consider it more of a nuisance than a problem. It doesn't break anything fortunately. You just have to wait till the new turn resets itself before clicking on the map (about 2 seconds). My problem is I try to click on something as soon as the turn ends and I am always minimizing the map as you said. Hopefully we will eventually track this one down because it gets on my nerves quite often. However, I am recommending that we concentrate on getting the few bugs that are actually keeping people from playing fixed, bugs in PBEM++ ironed out, and the sudden death rules refined first.

But, keep these reports coming. We do appreciate them and they are a big help to us--everyone of them.

Well, I switched to Aero theme and played a PBEM++ turn without any graphics glitches. So for me this seems to work. Thank you very much.
