AT11 sniper or 9M119 ?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

AT11 sniper or 9M119 ?

Post by nukkxx5058 »

The SI windows mentions "AT11 sniper" weapons mounted on T-80. However, it seems that the Russian name is 9M119).

Shouldn't the game use the Russian name when playing from the Russian point of view ?
wikipedia : The 9M119 Svir and 9M119M Refleks are laser beam riding, guided anti-tank missiles developed in the former Soviet Union. The two missiles are similar, but vary in range and launch platform. Both are designed to be fired from smooth bore 125 mm tank and anti-tank gun (2A45, 2A46 and 2A46M). Their NATO reporting name is AT-11 Sniper.

I made a decision to keep most of the Soviet weapons with the NATO reporting names. It will be easy for players to change the names and all the other data for themselves to suit their taste.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
