Vietnam Prop Plane Questions [Request for Spooky fix]

Post by jomni »

1) AC-47 Spooky
I'm planning to use them in my scenario. But do they really act as gunships? I can't seem to load up the Magazine in the AB with bullets. And when I set the Gunship load out, it says Winchester. They cannot launch this way. Unless I use a blank load out and use triggers to simulate gunship eliminating the ground troops.

2) A-1 Skyraider
DB Doesn't seem to have USAF variants (Air Commando Squadrons) I will use the Marine Variants for now. Are they identical in real life? If yes then it's no big issue.

3) Bail out chance
Can anyone give a rough probability of a successful bailout from a destroyed Skyraider during the Vietnam war?

I heard it was rather low, the ejection system they used was unreliable.

Great. One more thing. Do I need to stock the base magazine with tanks? I noticed that they do not decrease when I ready aircraft.

External fuel tanks and sonobuoys are always "free".

They did have "Ejector Seats" who propelled them some 1-2 meters up if they worked, but like you said, they were pretty low anyways.
I think i read about many accidents caused by the ejector, probably in this book.

Hi.

Been testing with gunships and the AC-130 Specter works as it should.
It's just the spooky are indicated to be WINCHESTER when loading the Gunship load out.
