Long time computer gamer here, price on all software is going up, but this title seems overpriced to me.
I picked up the digital plus boxed version, not a big fan of e-manuals.
Lots of data in here for sure, working game with scenarios.
Kinda hoping for more of a "Harpoon" like experience, this almost feels like you need to be an expert and micro manager.
Just my 2 cents, have a good one all.

I think, if you're patient enough, you will find this game will improve and even evolve to be much more than it is now, even though I for one am quite satisfied with the product in its current form. It has a very seasoned and dedicated fan base and developers who will constantly improve it, add new features, and great scenarios. And I would imagine one could even volunteer one's time and talents to help it along, were one so inclined. I hope you will enjoy the journey!

After reading the forums nearly every day..my main concern is the amount of micromanagement needed...it appears the TAC AI isn't the best in certain situations and needs to have it's hand held. Is this the right assumption or is the problem not as big a deal as it appears to be reading the forum. It is a concern that puts me off having it on my wish list.

I have no problem with the balance between macro/micromanagement. Sometimes you feel the need for getting directly involved but, as it turns out, that's a function of player impatience, not AI.

That is a personal judgement. I also think its a matter of expectations. If its working, no one says anything. When it doesn't work to expectations, someone complains. It's like most game forums, you have to assume most of the posts are issues found. What is interesting here is that over half the issues turn out to be not knowing that the games does something a certain way. More of a documentation issue/user error issue.

I've already easily gotten my value out of it, and barely scratched whats out now, with many more scenarios to come!

I like the game, just feels more like ;
game $50, editor plus global data $15 -> $65 total, I realize a lot of work goes into this, military sim veterans will pay higher, but is a newbie going to fork out big bucks for a complex game ?
Need to keep bringing new folks in, loosing too many old timers as it is.
Have a good one all.
