Creating/Editing Custom Units

Post by DoubleDeuce »

OK, I may have missed this in the forums as I thought I saw it mentioned previously. [:(] Anyway, is there a way to edit the subunits in a unit. Basically, adding other vehicles, dismounts, etc to an already created unit such as adding a FIST-V, MEDIC Track or the 1SG's M113 to a tank company to represent the mechanics and medic's etc. Yeah, I'm kinda OCD that way. [:D]

I know how to drop subunits out of units but cannot figure out how to add subunits back in, if that is even possible?

You can select different types of units with different equipment. Add them to the map and then attach them to whatever HQ you want.

It's quick and easy. The hardest part if finding the unit that fits what you want to add.

Ok, I just had to try it. And I actually got it right. Not accurate stats yet but enough to get the ball rolling. It was easier than I thought. I really love this game.

Nice work. Assuming this @#$%'n flu bug does not destroy all of my weekend I need to get the Modding Guides worked on to go over this stuff. It really is pretty easy to do, but there are a couple tricky items where values can only be a certain type or range for the game to use them versus some areas where it is just info. Skimming the Russian and US data files for types, ranges and such is the best plan since they have a ton of various equipment.

Now we just need the code to make them function correctly. [;)]

Definitely need to work on the proportions. Looks like someone stepped on the 88 and made it seem more squat than it should be.

There are no engineering changes in the near future. He's talking about finishing the modding guide.
