Uninstalling SOW Gettysburg

Post by jwilkerson »

The Uninstall seemed to work fine!!!

==

The original install worked fine also ... but the game would not play. It got a directX error. My machine has DirectX 11 and plays all my other games.

==

The update would not install either ... it said my serial number was bad ... even though this same serial number had worked 2 days previously to install the game.

==

Summary, the install works, the uninstall works, the update doesn't work, the game doesn't work.

The game uses DX9 and the installer is supposed to install any needed DX9 components. It would be worth trying to install DX9 directly, it can be downloaded directly from Microsoft at: The game uses DX9 and the installer will normally install any needed files. It might be worth installing the DX9 files directly. Here is the link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429.

You also should be using the latest installer from the Matrix site. The serial number issue will have to go through Matrix Technical Support as they handle those issues exclusively.

Hey Wilk, I just used copy and paste for a serial number I grabbed from the members section, I noticed it put a couple spaces in front of the serial number when pasted in the space for it. Make sure you delete those spaces.

I now you been around Matrix awhile and know your pc stuff, but that caught me off guard as first time I have seen it do that to me.
