Looking to pickup Command Ops Battle of the Bulge Had a Question

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Deciding on buying download or physical version. Does the Physical version come with a printed manual? Thanks

No it does not but there is a lovely digital manual with both versions. All you get with the physical version is a DVD case and a disk. Otherwise they are the same.

Arjuna, thanks for the answer. I had another question, I have Conquest of the Aegean and I found it ok. Perhaps it was the subject matter and the Battle of the Bulge interests me much more. Has the game been improved on being user friendly? What other changes make it a more enjoyable game than Aegean. Thanks

The number of changes between COTA and BFTB are huge. Check out the product page here:

I believe the engine is definitely more user friendly. There is a set of video tutorials to help get you started. A new Order of Battle display to help you find your units and see how they are structured. It has enhanced pathing tools to help you estimate durations of moves, new timing controls to help you coordinate tasks. There are new order options to help you control how your forces perform tasks. There are in game access to estab data on all your equipment. Plus a lot more.

There is a demo! http://www.gamershell.com/download_61274.shtml

Try it and find out for yourself. Personally, replaying Return to St Vith over and over again is what made me realise I'd get my money's worth.

PS. Never not buy digital. The price for the physical version is just a luddite tax.
