U.S. Turn #1
The setting: small map which is rather more hilly than wooded. Visibility is 20. Suspect this will get up-close and personal very soon since there is not much room to maneuver north to south.
+++++++++++++++++++++
We advance behind our smoke barrage.
Encounter several leading units of motorcycle squads. Dispatched one squad in the center, sent the one in the north running and sent some harassing fire towards the one in the south to pin it down.
The German commander likes his AT Guns, just as I recall from our previous engagement; I spotted and destroyed a 37mm AT gun, And I spot 3 50mm AT Guns attempting to set up firing lanes, but I block their LOS with smoke so they will have to relocate. Now I just have to worry about the AT Guns I did not spot and which will probably be impossible to locate after they settle into their positions.
Other than that, I spot 1 Tiger on overwatch, 1 Stug40 hiding behind a ridge close to the action and 2 Prime Movers, so perhaps I have 88s to worry about as well...

On Brutto-Bob's turn he did get that jeep I left out in the open in his backfield. That's all I could tell.
On my turn I lose another jeep to a Tiger (that makes 2 Tigers) as I crest a hill.
I stumble upon a squad of FJs and an HT that were using reverse slope defense (very clever) on the northern hill with VHs on it. Luckily I only take one casualty and my men run away.
I spotted another 50mm AT gun, so I smoked his location too. I also spot an empty HT advancing alone (?) in the north and I force the crew to bail. When I move up to finish him off, I take fire from a Marder II on overwatch. It didn't hit me but that was very clever to draw me out from cover with the lone HT. I made a hasty retreat to the woods before the Marder could take another shot.
Other than that, I spot an MG34 and 2 more Stug40 ausf F/8s. One of the 50mm ATs I shot at last turn was still visible so I blased him with alot of rounds but no damage was done. Perhaps the crew will bail and it will put that gun out of action for a turn or two.
It has been relatively quiet so far, but a storm is brewing. I just don't know where it is going to hit me...

Turn 3
There are a pair of US infantry platoons, escorted by some tank in the woods at the northem edge of the map, my recons engaged the fight, but I need more support here.
One infantry recon was spotted in the south.
US forces are keeping all the middle objectives now.

Not much happened in the north. I got 1 Sdkfz221 and sent an FJ squad running, but it cost me because I wasn't expecting to run into him in the woods. Brutto-Bob is very good at setting ambushes. I've fallen for about 4 of them so far.
In the south I popped a Flammwagen/16, did some major damage to a platoon of engineers and sent some HTs running. Not much else happened.
I hold the all 3 VH clusters and I am pushing forward through the smoke... I expect a push on the northern VHs because that is where most of the now awake German arty fell after my turn.

US forces are trying to secure the woods placed in the northem and southern map's edges with rangers and infantry. The major effort, in the south, is backed by some light tank and halftracks.
My engineers in the south are routed and decimated, my HTs are helping in the fight but there is nothing to do against the tanks.
In the north, my paratroops are in a little better position, but both my recons are needing for support.
In the centre, one german tank , push forward alone to catch one AA-MG, but was caught under fire by one Sherman, it was the first US Medium tank that falls in my LOS. Both are still alive, but is US turn now and the surronding ground was surely filled with US infantry...

... it surely was. Scratch one Stug40.
The same happened in the very southern edge of the map also. A Stug40 parked on top of one of my AAMGs. After a few assaults and an immobilization, I was able to put a side shot on that Stug40 to finish it off as well.
I took a few casualties in the north, but the Germans were pushed further out of the woods. Those HTs are proving very difficult to destroy.
In the south, I lose several jeeps, but I finish off an engineer squad and a few other units. I spot two more Stug40s on overwatch, a platoon of Cavalry moving up and a Tiger sneaking up to the woods. Will he try to enter the woods to get at my men? That could prove fatal...
There is also one MG34 in the south that I keep forgeting about that has wiped out about 10-12 of my men in two turns.
I must remember to deal with that unit.
The center VHs are still held uncontested by my forces.

In the northem and southern woods my forces are running away, the US attacks are carried by two equal fighting forces: each seems composed by 1 inf platoons + 1 Ranger platoon both carried by trucks and HTs, 2 Stuart and two Shermans. The americans are using trucks to spot my troops and draw away opportunity fire, they are using jeeps in a very aggressive way too.
In the centre, after the death of my Stug40, all is quiet...

In the north I took care of a very brave MC squad that drove into my backfield. I also eliminated a whole platoon of FJs and a Sdkfz221.
All is still quiet in the center.
In the south, the only thing I could do was eliminate a pesky Panzerfaust 30. If I stick my nose out of the woods and smoke to shoot at anything I will be answered with one of the following: several Stug40s; a couple PzIVg+s; a Panther G; or a Tiger. It cost me a Greyhound to find that out. Sooooo, I think I'll just hide right where I am and wait for a better opportunity. I also found a little present left by the retreating engineers. I hate it when mines go off, they make me jump out of my seat! I'm not telling if it was just a crewman or one of my Jacksons, or Pershings, or Abrams tanks...

Another turn passes and all is quiet. I knocked out a few Prime Movers to pin down those 50mm AT Guns, I severely damaged a Tiger so that its movement rate is only 3. I wish I had immobilized it!
There is a 37mm AT gun hiding in a house in the south that I can't do anything about and it keeps hitting any vehicles I move into its LOS.
I think Brutto-Bob is regrouping since most of his tanks have disappeared from view.
The only infantry I run into is cavalry.

I didn't do anything my turn except reposition for the final destruction of the German army. I didn't see any targets worth shooting at. The Germans have gone into hiding.
The replay of the destruction of that Stug40 was awesome. That **** gun had been popping up from behind a low ridge in the same location for a few turns taking pot-shots at my men on the hills a few hundred yards in front of it. So I just snuck a squad right in front of where I thought it would pop up the next turn and sure enough I got a lucky assault on it. I was only hoping to scare the crap out of that crew so it would think twice about doing it again. What luck!:D

In the South: I tried to assault that slow Tiger but no luck. I did take out an MG34 and a Recon Team that were next to the Tiger though. I also spotted 2 PzIVg+s trying to slip by the southern edge of the map. I tossed some 105mm arty there way to let them know I see them.
In the North: On the replay, I spotted 2 recon Teams, a 50mm AT gun, and an HT with SKI TROOPS! in it (it's the first I've seen of them), but everything disappeared on my turn. I also smoked a 37mm AAA gun that was setting up a firing line.
Other than that, not much going on. Where have those German tanks and assault guns gone to???
It's not like they are easy to hide.

The Germans have made their big push! There are ski troops and regular infantry being driven towards the center and north VHs by HTs and Sdkfz-6s. There are Stugs, Tigers and a Panther that have just appeared out of nowhere. All are moving towards the VHs.
I sent several platoons of Ski Troop running, immobilized a Stug, killed a PzIVg+, a couple HTs, a recon Team and a cavalry squad.
It cost me several jeeps and an HT.
It will be interesting to see how strong the Germans will be able to push and whether they can maintain this assault.

I lost 2 Stuarts.
a couple .50 cal AAA and some recon squads in the German assault. On my turn I pretty much eliminated anything that dared to get close enough for my infantry to assault them. This included a Flammwagen (after it vaporized my .50 cal AAA), an Sdkfz 221, several HTs and 3 or 4 Ski Troops. Those big cats are still moving up slowly. I don't think they will be much trouble since all there support seems to have disappeared.
On one lucky note, a 37mm AAA gun that was taking long range Op Fire at me had a malfunction. I like it when that happens.
Brutto-Bob has 4 Tigers, 1 Panther, 1 PzIVg+, 2 Stug40 ausf F/8s (1 immobilized) and 1 Stug40 ausf G as big guns left. I haven't lost any Shermans yet, IIRC and I'm not saying how many of those I have.

Not much has happened. I lost a jeep trying to keep tabs on those tanks. ... Not good when you emerge from the smoke and you are staring down the barrel of a 75mm long gun about 100 yards away.
One of my tanks also took fire from a 37mm AT gun. Lucky for me it wasn't a 50mm. As it turned out, the pitter-patter of 37mm rounds at long range didn't effect my Sherman crew at all. On my turn, I blocked LOS of that gun with smoke.
It is very very quiet now, I think we are waiting for German reinforcements to arrive. I notice a few trucks facing the other way. I think they are going to get help.

Things are still quiet. On the German's turn they got a US jeep and recon team. On my arty phase, my 75mm hit an Opel in the German rear area destroying it.
On my turn I killed an Sdkfz-6 and sent a infantry squad running. I also lost another jeep keeping track of where those Panzers are hiding.
I dropped arty on the suspected location of the ski troop that killed my jeep and recon team.
Still waiting for those German infantry reinforcements so the Panzers can enter the smoke covered VH areas that I hold...
Turn #15 out of 20 is now in Brutto-Bob's hands.
