Darkened map issue

I wonder if members have encountered this issue. I have no problem in playing the game other than an inability to see the larger map versions. All I can see is a small strip across the top, the rest of any map, other than the victory locations, is blacked out. I'm sure this shouldn't happen because it makes initial disposition more time consuming.

Any suggestions.

In deployment mode, before battle, your troops can only deploy in those areas that are not shaded. The shaded areas are controlled by your enemy and to change this, during battle you have to capture victory locations and ground.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Being a long time CC player (since CC1)I am aware of the restrictions on deployment. This does not relate to that. The whole of the big map screen is dark.

Having experimented with various screen resolutions since I posted I think the problem is caused by my computer/screen relationship. I can get the whole map visible if it goes to a smaller window format with a lower resolution. Not ideal but probably better than buying a new computer.

When you say 'larger map versions' do you mean the overview map, showing the entire battle area at once, with small icons for each unit? Is the map completely black or just shaded darker than normal?

It may be an issue with scaling the texture and your video card. What resolution were you seeing a problem with, and what resolution fixed it?

Hi Steve,

Yes, I am referring to the overview map. It seems to have reverted to type. On any resolution I get the maps but can only see the top 10%. The remainder is blacked out, showing only the location of units and victory locations, but no actual terrain. The full scale maps work perfectly.

Changing to more up to date lap top has resolved this issue, obviously to do with an ancient graphics card. Thanks to all who replied.
